Squalane mimics an oil that naturally occurs in the skin called squalene, which is responsible for hydrating and maintaining the barrier of our skin. The amount of squalene in our bodies decreases as we age. We have found a highly efficacious and clinically proven form of Squalane extracted from sugar cane, rather than shark liver like its non-vegan alternative. The squalane we use in our formulations is phyto-active, meaning that the nutrients are contained within the plant extract. These nutrients are delivered to each skin cell by a unique cellular matrix that protects the actives just as it does in the plant. Squalane works to:
