Anna's go-to Antioxidant Smoothie
I love this smoothie as it so lush and satisfying.
The addition of the cacao gives the drink a super antioxidant boost as does the cinnamon and acai powder!
It is important to differentiate here between raw cacao and cocoa. Raw cacao is cold pressed from raw coco beans and whilst cocoa powder is heated at very high temperatures.
As a result raw cacao retains over 300+ different antioxidant nutrients including high levels of magnesium, tryptophan (the feel good hormone) and even vitamin C — many more than its heated cousin.
Ingredients
¼ cup frozen strawberries
¼ cup frozen blueberries
¼ cup frozen cherries
2 heaped teaspoons freeze dried acai powder
1 heaped tablespoon raw cacao powder
½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon Complexion Protein+ Powder
1 tablespoon Beauty Dew
1 teaspoon Native Collagen Powder
250 mL cold pressed almond mylk OR add ¼ cup almonds and 250 mL filtered alkaline water
Method
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, ensuring you add the fruit first for easy blending.
Blend on high speed until smooth.
