5 simple tips for glowing skin from the inside-out

When it comes to bright, dewy, and glowing summer skin, incorporating a few simple foods and supplements into your routine can make all the difference. I like the power of the 80/20 rule – changing up just 20% of your routine can amplify bright and radiant skin by 80%.

My top 5 tips for a glow from within:

1. Add a Boost of Collagen

Incorporating a plant-based collagen-boosting supplement such as Native Collagen Powder and Beauty Dew into your routine is going to help boost your skin’s radiance and hydration levels. Packed with Vitamin C and a powerhouse of antioxidants, these supplements will assist you in countering some of the free radical damage which can be heightened during the festive season, such as increased alcohol intake, poor food choices, and prolonged sun exposure.

Beauty Dew also contains Silica and a unique antioxidant from fermented rice and prickly pear which can target hormonal hair loss. As we age, our collagen production naturally decreases, so healthy, hair, and nails require additional assistance.

2. Focus on Water-Rich Foods

Upping the ante on both water intake and water-rich foods can make a significant difference to our skin’s health. Water-rich foods include cucumber, celery, blueberries, watermelon, tomatoes, and lettuce. Enjoying multiple serves of these on a daily basis is a quick way to boost hydration without copious fluid consumption.

Herbal teas can also be iced and infused with fruits and berries. The No.1 Green Goddess Detox Tea and No.4 Golden Glow Tea are delicious skin-nourishing beverages that contain herbs traditionally known for their ability to cleanse the skin from the inside out.

3. Incorporate a Greens Powder

Greens such as chlorella, spirulina, and wheatgrass are not only abundant in iron, trace minerals, and B vitamins, they are also super-charged with antioxidants. Anecdotally, my clients report brighter skin, increased energy, and overall vitality when they start incorporating a greens powder into their diet.

It can also be a great way to increase your daily green vegetable intake during a busy festive season.

4. Use the Power of Pineapple and Kiwi

Pineapple is one of my favourite summer radiance-boosting foods due to its richness in Vitamin C content and powerful enzymes. It reduces inflammation in the skin and improves digestive health, allowing our skin to absorb nutrients.

Kiwi fruit has a very unique type of fiber that helps to sweep our colon, making us feel lighter, but also ensuring we are removing toxins and hormones efficiently from our body. Detoxification is an important part of the process in achieving radiant skin.

5. Say No to Dairy, Salt, and Sugar

These three food groups definitely work against us when it comes to our skin’s overall health and glow factor. Dairy can lead to puffy and inflamed skin whilst salt can trigger histamine reactions, leaving the skin red and flushed.

Sugar can deplete our magnesium and zinc levels, whilst also increasing our insulin levels and testosterone – the sure way to exacerbate hormonal acne and oily skin. Being mindful to reduce the intake of these common festive ingredients will definitely show up positively in your skin.
